THE MOST PERFECT MACHINE

Hi you all!
3rd and 4th graders are working on a special topic, Olympic Games. We have learnt some new vocabulary and we have already discovered that all of us have a wonderful machine,
OUR HEART!
The walls of the heart are made of really strong muscles that squeeze and relax to pump blood around the body. It does this about 90 times a minute if you're a child and 70 times a minute if you're an adult.
So, that means that a child's heart beats about 130.000 times a day and an adult's heart beats 100.000 times a day!
 Amazing, isn't it?
Also, we have written a poem and we have to learn for next week. It's very easy and you can learn with us:
Sports are healthy.
Sports are fun.
Sports are easy
and good for everyone!

CONCLUSIONS on lessons:
If your heart is healthy it will be able to work for a long time !

Your heart will like it if you:
  • Exercise every day
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Drink water every day rather than fizzy drinks (coke, soda...)
  • Make good choices as you grow older: you can choose not to smoke as an example.

Your heart
will love you
for it!

By the way, let me to show you some of the vocabulary we have learnt a long this week, about this interesting topic! For the moment, try to find these keywords in the image presentation below (TEAM - MEDAL - OLYMPIC FLAG - SPORTS - FRIENDSHIP -ATHLETE-OLYMPIC TORCH -GREECE)
Make your own slide show at Animoto.

If you want to learn more about this project, look at the 3rd and 4th graders' pages and also the 14th of May in this blog.
Have a good weekend and
See you next Monday!
