European Day of Languages

Hi there, this is the second week at school and children are happy to be in contact with friends and to celebrate their friendship! Hooray for them!

Also, this week is important because it finishes celebrating the European Day of Languages on September 26th. Because of that, I have prepared this breakout about languages in Europe. They are in a trouble and they need your help. Do you want to help them? Try it. You can do it!!

Back to school

Children have greeted the return to school with joy and enthusiasm after a six month pause to in-class learning. Things are going to be absolutely different because teachers have reduced the ratio and maybe this is going to be very positive.

Anyway, for starting these first days, I propose the Personal star. I like a lot this activity because it requires no preparation and students always enjoy a bit of gossip about their new mates and teachers. You have to draw a six-pointed star and on each point write six answers to questions about yourself (about me: August, 8, swimming, orange, Almeria, Tintin)

Then, tell students that the star contains information about you. After that, ask them to guess the information behind the words by asking questions.

Once they guess your questions, put them in pairs and ask them to draw their personal star writing six words about their personal life. In pairs they can ask each other questions to find out about their partner.

When they have all finished, ask them as a group to tell the others what they have found out about their friend.
