Europe and EU

Hi there,
after living an important weekend in Europe because of Brexit, I designed a ppt to introduce the changes in the EU and in Europe bearing in mind that my audience would be year 6 in a primary school.

Asking for a quality label

"Teach me yours" has been another eTwinning project where different European Countries have shared their own language at a basic level, bearing in mind multilingualism. Through the eTwinning net, we organized and planned a task per month and our students collected, learnt and recognized the most important words  around different topics: Greetings, Months, Days, seasons, weather, colours, jobs and food as the most important. After that, they compared the languages and they were able to realize that many languages have a lot in common and some of them are absolutely different. They made a difference between Roman and Germanic languages.
Now, it's time to ask for a quality label. I wish my school could have its first one!

European Union Gamification

Hi there,
I have just designed an excellent activity that can be used as an assessment tool. This is the European Union jigsaw. It has been designed with the jigsaw planet. This is a free tool and it is not strictly necessary to take an account, but if you do, you can store your jigsaws and edit them later if needed. Click on the pic and have fun trying your own designs!

Languages are everywhere!

Let's make children be aware of languages are everywhere.
They are at school but also in the city and why not on clothes...so, remember your t-shirt with a European language for next Thursday!

Here you have a movie from 2012 showing  some t-shirts and the primary students who participated in the celebration.

European Day of languages

Hi you all! Next Thursday will be September 26th, the European Day of Languages. We are preparing some activities for that important day.
Meanwhile, let me show you a brief cartoon to promote foreign languages.
I have always been impressed by people that are able to become fluent in another language!

Homework for Thursday: wear a t-shirt with a text on it.
It doesn't matter the language!
