Good News!

Some time ago, I introduced all of you into the Fonix Competition. Remember that this event is for schools and it is designed to promote the use of English among school students through a fun and educational way in an informal educational setting. Its objective is to select a finalist from each of the first two stages: local, territorial and the winners at the final stage.

Joanot Alisanda School participated last February with two students from CS. So, it's an honour to communicate to all of you that Oriol Garcia Planas from 5thB group has been selected to go to the next stage. It will be on 18th of April.

Fonix 2015

Fonix is an English Competition for Schools and it is designed to promote the use of English among school students through a fun and educational competition in an informal educational setting. Its objective is to select a finalist from each of the first two stages: local, territorial and the winners at the final stage.

The exercises that students will do next February 28th, will consist of writing tasks, each based on different skills, reading and writing mainly. There will also be an oral section in the final stage of the competition.

Joanot Alisanda School participates every year designating one student from 5th grade and another one from 6th grade. So, the English Department at our School has selected Oriol Garcia from 5thB group and Max Porcar from 6thA group. Congratulations for them!

Fonix 2014

Congratulations to Pol Sobrepera (5thB) and Maria Gallego (6thB). They passed the local stage in Joanot Alisanda and  they  fought in the territorial stage in Barcelona last 1st March. If you want to know more information, click on the picture below.

Now, we will have to be patient because the results will be published on April 7th! Good luck for our students!

The Fonix 2014

The Seventh English Competition for Catalan Schools (THE FONIX 2014), designed to promote the use of English among school students through a fun and educational competition in an informal educational setting, is hereby announced.

The objective of the competition is to select a finalist from each of the first two stages: local, territorial and the winners at the final stage.
The exercises in all the stages of the competition will consist of writing tasks, each based on a different theme (for example: geography, history or music) 

The written tasks contain a variety of activities on vocabulary, reading and writing. 

In the final stage of the competition, there will also be an oral section in the test.
The regional stage of the competition will tale place at the same time on the same day in all the examining centres in Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona. 

The regional stage will be supervised by the organisers.

In Joanot Alisanda School, 5th and 6th graders will participate in it!

English Teachers pay attention: The enrolment period for the competition for all schools who wish to participate will be from 14th of November until 20th of January 2012 inclusive.
