Summer holidays

Hi there! It's time to have a break. It has been a weird school year and I had to cope with different tasks from the ones we used to do at school. Personally I learnt a lot but I need to switch off from school routines and charge my batteries for a new School year! See you in September ;D

Listening while having fun!

By watching movies you are able to hear and understand spoken English. Hearing how certain words are pronounced will help you to remember and memorize the sounds. Because of that, you will find in this post two proposals: the short video below will introduce you to a segment of a popular movie, and give you an opportunity to learn new words, phrases, and expressions.

CoRubrics

Hi there, how are you? I really hope you find well. I am in my summer break, in fact today is my first day of Summer holidays because I have finished my last training course. One of the task that I had to do is to evaluate coleagues using CoRubrics and this tool is outstanding! Because of that I wanted to share it in this post. It can be useful in our lessons so that pupils can also learn from their classmates while the assessing process. On the following video you will see that CoRubrics is a quite automatized process resource. You just have to follow the steps carefully. I hope you can apply it to your lessons. It really saves us lots of work when evaluating and you make kids participate in the assessment process too.

Hi there, most of you know that I am very fond of eTwinning projects. In fact, I have been asking for a Quality label because of the projects I have been carrying on this school year.

Never mind, I wanted to share what eTwinning projects meant to me during the confinement and in times of COVID-19: an opportunity to look for new methodologies and ways of learning&teaching.

In these tough times, I think that it is important to be inspired and motivated. eTwinning helps me to educate my students with level, to maintain their motivation and involvement, as well as I can provide support and encourage my colleagues by sharing this experience. Today, eTwinning projects and digital tools are unmatched. I use digital tools and resources regularly as a result of using them in projects, workshops and seminars.  eTwinning has greatly influenced my life. It has had a positive impact not only on my professional and personal development, but also on my learning methods. I encourage you to dive into its webpage!

Asking for another quality label

"Urban Garden" has been another eTwinning project where Spain, Greece, Italy, Jordan and the Republic of Moldavia shared different materials around plants along this School year. The project aimed to create a Urban Garden in a space dedicated to school. The eye was turned both on the scientific study of the plants that children cultivated, and on the respect of nature for the preservation of the planet. Now, it's time to ask for a Quality Label. I wish I could have this one. Fingers crossed!

World Oceans Day!

Today, June 8th is the  World Oceans Day and it is celebrated by millions of people all over the globe!
Have you ever worked this important day in your English lessons? What do you do to celebrate this special day with students?  I encourage you to think about because it's important to make children be aware of the need of protecting the oceans.

Because of that, I want to share some ideas in this post:

- Plastics Oceans.   Take action by reading and spreading actions around you.
- Save Posidonia project. Do you know what is it or where did this project start?
- New danger to the marine ecosystem. Thousands of masks and gloves end up in the sea.
- The 2030 Agenda for Susteinable Development. Do you know what is this Agenda? Its goals and targets will stimulate action over the next fifteen years!

Also, I want to share an amazing breakout that one of my best practicum students designed for my primary year 4, 5, and 6 students. Thank you Mariona G. for being so enthusiastic!

eTwinning certificates for students

These images show you the certificates that I designed for my year 5 and 6 students. This is a weekend to prepare them and to write draft mails for kids. I want they remember the projects as important European tasks that they were able to share with European students.
